Released Cages

I was born and raised in Japan, but quite often the people around me treated me as “dissimilar” because of my Korean descent even though I spoke same language and looked no different from Japanese. Therefore I was always searching for my own identity and asking myself ‘who I am’ since I was a small child.

However since I came to London 3years ago, I met a lot of people who have different ethnic origins and nationalities; realizing that even every individual have different backgrounds. Although, we are still similar in the one fact, that we are ‘human beings’. As a result, these experiences caused me to feel that I had been released from invisible shackles, and achieved freedom in my mind.
