My work examines "home" as an elusive idea. For me, the subject of everyday life conveys the notion of home, and presents issues of my own identity. My recent work explores my concerns in relation to these day-to-day experiences. Although I know the reality of life (our daily routines) is not always as beautiful as the illusion (our hopes and memories), I see that there is always hidden beauty, even in the mundane.

In our daily lives, we go through our routines, effortlessly completing tasks without considering our actions. A sip of coffee, a paid electric bill, setting the alarm clock before bed--all of these seemingly unimportant things become an invisible, intangible fabric into which the more  important events in our existence are woven. It is almost sad to think that, in our last moments of life, as we look back on all we've done, that fabric is rarely thought upon for even a moment, even though it makes up the majority of our lives. The truth is that our routines are just as important as our incidents, and the mundane may very well hold the essence of life and an untapped beauty that is hovering right before our eyes. In my work, I try to extract that forgotten beauty from ordinary, everyday things.

To achieve this, I use objects and ideas that I have encountered in my travels.  From twinkling cityscapes to small tea tables, all of my works take a piece of the world around us, and question the possibilities and unseen aspects of each of them.  I would like to encourage viewers to stare into the situations I have tried to capture from ordinary life, and hope it  gives them an opportunity to realize its poetic capability  through my work .
